Pre-set Weddings

Pivoting during Covid19 - Finding a way to help brides and grooms tie the knot safely.

November 2020 was a significant date for the wedding industry. The already restricted weddings (50 or less) was a difficult adjustment for many couples and travel restrictions ended destination wedding plans completely BUT in November, with very little notice, weddings were restricted to 10 people, including the officiant.
I had just completed two weddings in September with all safety measures in place and was working on one wedding for November 21, 2020. I didn't want my clients to be worried about their wedding so I told them to focus on the dress alterations and finalizing their song list - leave everything else to me. After contacting the venue, confirming with anxious vendors and reviewing all the Public Health Order details, I put a Covid plan together.
We adjusted the guestlist and proceeded with the wedding with all the new safety measures in place. My clients were delighted and happily married. But then I though... what about all the other couples out there? What did they do, what CAN they do? The remainder of my 2020 weddings had already moved to 2021 so all hopes were set on 2021.
By January 20 2021 it became clear we were not likely to see the restrictions lift and even if it did, the likelihood of large weddings (over 50) was unlikely. I reached out to a trusted preferred vendor - Kathleen Chiu of Proline Events - and asked if she would like to collaborate on a program I was working on creating - "Pre-set Weddings" throughout Greater Vancouver. With her agreement we started an impromptu team reaching out to venues to see if anyone would like to provide a safe place for brides and grooms to confidently plan their wedding ceremonies. Below are the venues who agreed to help bride and grooms get married in 2021!
